Ranjan
Hello! My name is Ranjan and I joined Horizon Parking Ltd., as a Mobile Team Leader in May 2018. My role involved the very essence of the car park management industry and was designed to cover areas from patrolling a number of car parks, enforcing to liaising with colleagues, clients and customers.
Horizon is a fast-paced environment to work in and no two days are ever the same. Thus, I found myself given more responsibilities and opportunities that allowed me to develop my career very quickly. I soon identified that I had the potential to add value to my role and to the success of the company, and my commitment, patience, flexibility and persistence contributed towards achieving my goals.
I was soon promoted to Senior Team Leader within a few months. Something I really enjoyed was being able to lead and work alongside a regional team while optimising their success and creating cohesiveness within the team. I commenced looking for ways to become more involved within my role and in the development aspects of the company business. As my expertise within the role of Senior Team Leader developed, so did my confidence in leadership, management and building professional business relationships and networks progress.
Leading a team can sometimes be challenging and there were times I was faced with unforeseen problems and unexpected situations, which I managed to resolve by taking things in my stride and activating my problem-solving skills to the fullest of my abilities. I soon transitioned into the role of Deputy Regional Manager and under the continuous mentoring and support of my Regional Manager, essentially cover Scotland and Northern Ireland managing and providing leadership to a fantastic team.
My current role involves operational, management, administrative, training and leadership duties to name a few. One of the most important aspects of the job as Deputy Regional Manager is to work in partnership with clients by understanding their needs and how they work in order to build long-term effective relationships. Progressing into management was a steep learning curve and my abilities and contribution was thoroughly recognised and encouraged by Horizon.
Being a Deputy Regional Manager is the most rewarding, exciting and challenging role in my entire career up to date and having stepped into Management, it’s fair to say that I am perpetually reinventing myself and learning something new every day. I don’t anticipate this to stop anytime soon because the continuous process of learning has helped me change my mindset and objectives whilst the company grows and evolves.
My journey so far has been very fulfilling and working for Horizon is a privilege. I can highly recommend it to anyone since I believe that you really do get out of it exactly what you put into it… The sky’s the limit with Horizon Parking.
